Forestry First Aid (QAR)







During this qualification, learners are assessed by their trainer on the following practical competence




At the end of this qualification, there is a multiple-choice assessment for each learner to sit.


Successful completion of the practical assessments are required to successfully complete the qualification.

Successful learners will receive a Qualsafe Awards certificate, valid for a period of 3 years from the date of successful completion.

The Successful learner will need to retake this qualification prior to the expiration date of the certificate to remain qualified.

The qualification aims to benefit learners by providing them with appropriate first aid training, in a forestry context, as set out in the First Aid at Work - Forestry Commission Policy enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with specific special hazards in an emergency situation.


This qualification is for people who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to be able to provide first aid when dealing with special hazards in a forestry/agricultural context in an emergency situation.


The qualification is designed to confirm the learners’ ability to meet ‘a licence to practice’ as determined by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and recommendations in the First Aid at Work - Forestry Commission Policy.
